Small Taming 小畜 Xiǎo Chù

Small, gentle steps restrain big forces; be patient with slow progress.

Trigrams: Wind over Heaven

The judgement

Small, gentle restraint leads to success, but not yet to fulfilment: dense clouds gather, yet no rain falls.

The image

Wind drifts across the sky, shaping clouds but not yet bringing rain. The noble one refines the outward expression of their character.

Light side

Small adjustments and gentle influence can prepare the ground for something larger.

Shadow side

Expecting the big result too soon can make you dismiss the quiet progress being made.

Drawing Small Taming in a game of Leela

In Leela Atlas you can draw a card from the I Ching when you land on a square. A bridging question links the card to the square, so the card speaks to your own question:

• What small, gentle step could you take while the larger outcome is still forming?
• What does "Small Taming" show you about your square?
• If "Small Taming" were advice for your question, what would it say?
• Where do you meet "Small Taming" in your life right now?
