Treading 履 Lǚ

Walk carefully and courteously, even near danger, and you stay safe.

Trigrams: Heaven over Lake

The judgement

You can tread on the tiger's tail without being bitten, if you move with care, courtesy and a clear sense of your place.

The image

Heaven above, the lake below: each in its proper place. The noble one distinguishes high from low and so steadies people's aims.

Light side

Tact and good conduct let you move safely even among powerful forces.

Shadow side

Careless or arrogant steps can provoke what you could have passed by.

Drawing Treading in a game of Leela

In Leela Atlas you can draw a card from the I Ching when you land on a square. A bridging question links the card to the square, so the card speaks to your own question:

• How could you move through this situation with more care and respect?
• What does "Treading" show you about your square?
• If "Treading" were advice for your question, what would it say?
• Where do you meet "Treading" in your life right now?
