Ansuz (ᚨ)
Leela Atlas team · Updated
A message worth hearing.
Literal meaning: a god, one of the Æsir · Freyr's aett, the first group of eight
In the old rune poems
The Icelandic poem names Odin, lord of Asgard. The Old English poem calls the rune the mouth, source of all speech; the Norwegian one, a river mouth.
Light side
Words that carry meaning: a teaching, a conversation, an inner voice. You are open to hearing and able to say what is true.
Shadow side
Noise drowns the message: too much talk, advice you will not hear, or words left unsaid.
Drawing Ansuz in a game of Leela
In Leela Atlas you can draw a card from the Elder Futhark runes when you land on a square. A bridging question links the card to the square, so the card speaks to your own question:
- What has someone, or something in you, already told you about this question?
- What does "Ansuz" show you about your square?
- If "Ansuz" were advice for your question, what would it say?
- Where do you meet "Ansuz" in your life right now?
