The Sun (XIX)

Joy, clarity, life force.

The image

A naked child with a feather in the hair rides a white horse beneath a huge smiling sun, carrying a large red banner; sunflowers lean over a wall behind.

Keywords: joy, vitality, clarity

Light side

Simple joy and clear daylight: you can be seen as you are, without hiding. Warmth and openness bring out the best in a situation.

Shadow side

Brightness can become a need to always look fine, glossing over what still hurts. Joy does not require pretending everything is perfect.

Drawing The Sun in a game of Leela

In Leela Atlas you can draw a card from the Classic Tarot when you land on a square. A bridging question links the card to the square, so the card speaks to your own question:

• What would it look like to approach this question with the openness of a child?
• What does "The Sun" show you about your square?
• If "The Sun" were advice for your question, what would it say?
• Where do you meet "The Sun" in your life right now?
