Temperance (XIV)

Patience and measure join what seemed apart.

The image

A winged angel with a triangle on the breast pours water between two golden cups, one foot on land and one in a pool; irises grow nearby and a path leads to a crown of light.

Keywords: balance, moderation, integration

Light side

Mixing opposites slowly creates something new. Patience and the right measure let you heal and blend parts of life that seemed incompatible.

Shadow side

Moderation can become lukewarm compromise, avoiding any strong choice. Endless balancing can also be a way of never committing.

Drawing Temperance in a game of Leela

In Leela Atlas you can draw a card from the Classic Tarot when you land on a square. A bridging question links the card to the square, so the card speaks to your own question:

• What two things in your life could you blend a little more, instead of choosing only one?
• What does "Temperance" show you about your square?
• If "Temperance" were advice for your question, what would it say?
• Where do you meet "Temperance" in your life right now?
