Dispersion 渙 Huàn

Let rigid walls dissolve; reconnect with others and a higher purpose.

Trigrams: Wind over Water

The judgement

Dispersion brings success. What has hardened can dissolve when people turn to something greater together; then even the great crossing is possible.

The image

Wind blows over the water and breaks up the ice. The ancient kings honoured the divine and built temples to unite hearts.

Light side

Rigid barriers can dissolve, freeing energy and connection.

Shadow side

Without a unifying centre, dispersal becomes mere scattering.

Drawing Dispersion in a game of Leela

In Leela Atlas you can draw a card from the I Ching when you land on a square. A bridging question links the card to the square, so the card speaks to your own question:

• What has frozen in you or between you and others that could now dissolve?
• What does "Dispersion" show you about your square?
• If "Dispersion" were advice for your question, what would it say?
• Where do you meet "Dispersion" in your life right now?
